New Years Photo Booth Mishawaka

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Fun Zone Photo Booths again rang in the New Year with the party people at the FOP Mishawaka for their New Years Bash. It was a ton of fun! The photo booth didn’t stop rocking in the New Year!

We came up with a new custom design for the photo strip which I posted here a few days before. I’m really biased but I think this photo strip design rocked and is one of the best we have ever done.

Look who we ran into, out of his tux,  letting his hair down figuratively and enjoying a night off. Tony from Purrfect Occassions DJ!

Elkhart Photo Booth | Crystal Ballroom, The Lerner

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

For the second year in a row, Fun Zone Photo Booths provided the photo booth fun for the MSC Winterfest. This year they hosted the party at the Crystal Ballroom in the newly reopened Lerner Theater in Elkhart. All I can say is wow! What a beautiful facility and a great addition to Michiana’s selection of fantastic banquet halls.

This is one beautiful facility, with soaring ceilings and beautiful chandeliers and a great color pallet. One of the things we have discovered over the last 23 years of business in the event industry, is that while a lot of halls can look great, the food can suck. Well after Nicole and chef insisted we grab a plate of food, all I can say is YUM! My compliments to the chef .

The Crystal Ballroom, at the Lerner ranks up there with Windsor Park in Mishawaka, Knowllwood Country Club in Granger, The Gillespie at the Hilton Garden Inn in South Bend,  the Avalon and Raddison in Merrillville at the top of our favorite banquet facilities in Michiana!

The photo booth was packed all night  long for the MSC party. And so was the dance floor as one of our favorite bands form Michiana Blessed Engine rocked the dance floor!

Blessed Enging getting the photo booth.

A Photo Booth In A Music Video

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Okay I admit it, I’m way behind on the latest music, this past summer was just that busy. So needless to say I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out Cobra Starship’s video for You Make Me Feel and found half of it set in a photo booth! Love it. Check it out:

IMITATION IS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY
-Charles Caleb Colton, 1820

You know you are the leader when everyone wants to be like you! Today I walked into my favorite prop store to see what fun new goodies I could add to the photo booth prop box, for our customers to enjoy. I noticed immediately that the big display of clown bow ties was missing, one of the things I wanted to pick up. The clown bow tie on a stick is one of our most popular props for the photo booth and I like having spares just in case. So after looking around and picking up a couple new things I’m sure everyone is going to enjoy, I stopped the manager and asked if there were any clown bow ties left.

“We are out, thanks to you.”

“Because of me, why?”

“Your competitors cleaned us out, a bunch of them said they saw the bow ties on a stick, on your blog and were asking how to make them. Several of them were looking for some of the hats you show and one even had a list of all the hats you have pictured and wanted those.”…

You never realize the impact you are having until someone tries to imitate you!

We don’t want to copy our competitors, we want to be better than our competition!

Nothing brings a smile to my face more than hearing the laughter, the giggles, the shrieks of excitement and joy, seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces that is the result of  our jobs well.  In my opinion photo booths are so much more than the photo strip, photobooths are an original experience and at their core, pure entertainment!

Our goal at Fun Zone is to offer a fun, unique, different and original photo booth experience. I’ll be honest, the equipment that makes the photo booth work, the camera, the computer, the printer and the software are all available to anyone who wants to buy it. That doesn’t mean we skimp on those key pieces of equipment though. I want to deliver the absolute best to our clients, and have been told by people like Nicole Morehead of  Portraits by Nicole that we have the best looking printed photo strips she has seen.To deliver the best we use Canon cameras and Kodak printers. But like I said anyone can purchase those items.

Our uniqueness begins with our custom designed and built photo booths. It’s taken three years of experimentation and dozens of designs to come up with what I feel is a truly unique and beneficial photo booth for our customers. I had seen several photo booths prior to entering the business and many of them for me lacked the nostalgic feel of yesterday, when as teenagers my friends and I headed to Scottsdale Mall to see how many of us we could stuff into the booth and get into the picture. I had seen the pipe and drape setups people were calling photo booths, they just didn’t provide the same feel or enjoyment. So I set out to design a booth that brought the same enjoyment of yesterday, cramped space and privacy to get crazy, while still being good for the party crowds of today, where the bride wants to get all her bridesmaids in the picture. In attaining the goal we have created a unique photo booth that is all our own; no tent, no pipe and drape, it is hard sided, won’t fall over when someone bangs into it drunk, elegant looking and won’t detract from your decorations.

The uniqueness continues with the props. Obviously any competitor can buy what we have in hats or sunglasses and evidently has. But all they can do is play catch up because we are always on the look out for new and funny items to stock the prop box with! The prop box is always changing! Yes there are a few tried and true items, like the clown bow ties on a stick, but 60% of what we brought to events changed over the summer. And when the holidays hit we will be adding props specifically for Halloween or Thanksgiving or Christmas to the prop box! Our chalk boards in the shapes of hearts and word balloons are custom made for our clients by me.

But what really sets us apart? Cynthia Basker of Celebrated Events I believe said it best: “You and your team are unique, caring and create a wonderful experience for the guests.” As photo booths hosts, that is our goal. Anyone can dump a photo booth at a reception venue and turn it on and stand around watching your guests go through, and that is all that many of them do. For us it is about facilitating fun and making sure you and your guests have the time of your life because at the end of the night the best reward we can have is the memories of all the jokes, giggles, laughter, shrieks of excitement and the smiles on the faces of you and your guests! Photo Booths are so much more than a strip of pictures that you take home and paste into a scrap book, they are about creating wonderful memories!

Our competitors can buy our props, but they can’t be me or my team of professionals who are there to bring you the fun!

So if you want what everyone else is trying to copy. The Unique! The Fun! The Ooriginal! The best in photo booth entertainment! Then give us a call at 574.307.3652
